At its heart is a genuine 1910 obscura camera, carefully adapted to house modern photography technology, alongside an 1927 HMV TV touchscreen and a remarkable 1916 mahogany gramophone from which guests receive their photographs. It is not simply a modern photo booth given a vintage appearance — the period pieces are part of the experience.

How Our Vintage Photo Booth Works
This is where vintage craftsmanship meets modern technology.
At the heart of our Vintage Photo Booth is a genuine 1910 wooden obscura field camera. Look at it and you see a beautiful piece of photographic history; hidden inside is a modern digital camera capable of capturing the high-quality photographs your guests take home.
Alongside it sits an original His Master’s Voice table television, carefully converted into an interactive touchscreen. Guests can see themselves on screen, strike a pose and, when everyone is ready, simply touch the screen to start the countdown.
Then comes the part nobody expects.
Once the photograph has been taken, the finished print appears from an original wind-up mahogany gramophone. It's our own rather unconventional approach to instant printing — modern technology hidden inside an object that looks as though it has been transported straight from another era.
The open-plan booth is illuminated by genuine vintage stage and television lamps, creating a photographic setting in which the period equipment remains very much part of the experience rather than simply decoration.

Our signature experience includes three hours of Vintage Photo Booth hire, authentic period equipment, a dedicated Photo Booth Host, period props and unlimited prints for your guests on the night. Is the Vintage Photo Booth suitable for historic venues?

How much space does the Vintage Photo Booth require?
We require a minimum area of approximately 2.5m × 3m for the Vintage Photo Booth. Where more space is available, the experience can extend beyond this footprint, allowing the period equipment, backdrop and props to become part of the event décor. Its open-plan design creates an inviting space that guests can see, explore and interact with throughout the event.
How long does the Vintage Photo Booth take to set up?
Please allow approximately 1.5 hours from our arrival at the venue for installation and preparation. We liaise with the venue in advance to discuss access, positioning and practical requirements so the Vintage Photo Booth can be set up and ready before your guests need it. Where a venue has unusual access arrangements, we can plan accordingly before the event.
Do you provide Vintage Photo Booth hire throughout the UK?
Yes. Decadent Times is based in Oxfordshire and provides Vintage Photo Booth hire for events throughout the UK. Travel and delivery arrangements depend on the location of your venue, event timings and logistical requirements. Simply provide the venue address and event date when making your enquiry and we'll confirm availability and include the appropriate travel arrangements within your bespoke quotation.
Can photographs be branded for a wedding or corporate event?
Yes. Bespoke branding can be incorporated into the photographs, allowing names, dates, logos, event graphics or other agreed designs to appear on the finished prints. This needs to be arranged in advance. We can also discuss physical branding positioned within the backdrop, foreground or wider photo booth setting to create a more integrated branded experience for weddings, corporate events and activations.
Are props included?
Yes. Our Vintage Photo Booth includes a steamer trunk containing authentic antique and period props, with additional options including hats and faux-fur coats to help guests create their photographs. For an even more immersive experience, themed professional actors can also be hired as Photo Booth Hosts or as walkabout characters to meet, greet and interact with guests throughout your event.
Do guests receive printed and digital photographs?
Yes. Guests can enjoy unlimited printed photographs throughout the event, giving them a physical keepsake to take home on the night. Digital photographs are also provided through a secure online gallery, normally available within two working days of the event. The gallery allows you and your guests to access and download the photographs after the occasion.
